It has been such a long time since the game has been shutdown, so I may be slightly wrong here, but the first time I played the game, I think it let you choose between 4/5 free heroes. Since then, Moon Knight has grown to be one of my favorite superheroes.
I love superheroes but don’t really read comics, so this was the first time I even heard the name of Angela, Moon Knight, and Nova. Don’t be surprised if you don’t know a few of these heroes either. Just from the list of 13 heroes above, you can already see a few characters that you might notice in another Marvel video game but are not actual playable characters. When launched on console, Marvel Heroes Omega had 38 available heroes, including: The PC version had a full 63 characters on the hero roster! The full roster can be viewed by clicking here. And although there were microtransactions to unlock things early and support the game, you could still unlock almost everything with in-game currencies, including other heroes. Marvel Heroes Omega was an ARPG (action role-playing game) similar to Marvel Ultimate Alliance. It was free-to-play and had a ton of characters to play that you typically wouldn’t find in another Marvel video game. Marvel Heroes Omega was the console version of Marvel Heroes 2016 for the PC. I loved each game in its own way, but the one superhero title I miss the most is also the one that is no longer playable and has been shutdown since November 27, 2017-Marvel Heroes Omega.
I have played so many superhero games in the past 26 years of my life: multiple Batman games (before the Arkham series), Superman, The Incredible Hulk, countless Spiderman games, Captain America, Wolverine, Injustice, and Marvel’s Avengers.
